Rawalpindi/Tehran — Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Pakistan Armed Forces, held an important meeting with Lt Gen Abdul Hayee, Commander of Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters (Central Command of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps). During the meeting, both sides held detailed discussions on bilateral defence cooperation, regional security, and matters of mutual interest.
The meeting took place amid the current regional situation, the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, and ongoing tensions in the Middle East. Both sides agreed to further strengthen defence cooperation, joint efforts against terrorism, and regional stability.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir highlighted the historical, religious, and geographical ties between Pakistan and Iran, stating that close cooperation between the two countries is essential for regional peace and stability. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s consistent support for peace and stability in the region.
Lt Gen Abdul Hayee, while welcoming the Pakistani Field Marshal, emphasized Iran’s importance to defence and security cooperation with Pakistan. The two leaders discussed border security, regional challenges, and the need for a joint strategy to address them.
According to ISPR, the meeting was held in a positive and constructive atmosphere, with both sides expressing commitment to enhancing cooperation in the defence sector in the future.
