KHANEWAL: The Chief Minister Punjab Inter-Tehsil Kabaddi Championship 2026 was successfully held at the Sports Stadium Khanewal, with teams from all four tehsils of the district participating in a spirited competition.
The event was attended by prominent dignitaries including Member of the National Assembly Muhammad Khan Daha and Divisional Sports Officer Multan Atta-ur-Rehman Khan as chief guests. A large number of spectators gathered to witness the matches, as players showcased exceptional skill and sportsmanship throughout the البطولة.
The final, played at the Sports Stadium, featured a thrilling contest between Khanewal and Mian Channu. Both teams delivered outstanding performances, keeping the audience engaged. In the end, Mian Channu clinched the championship title, while Khanewal secured the runner-up position.
At the closing ceremony, chief guests including Muhammad Khan Daha, Atta-ur-Rehman Khan, and District Sports Officer Muhammad Hafeez distributed trophies and cash prizes among the winning and runner-up teams.
The event, organized by the District Sports Department Khanewal, was attended by District Sports Officer Vehari Asim Bhatti, Chairman Executive Committee District Press Club Khanewal Qulzam Bashir Ahmed, and several members of the executive committee including Amir Ayub Paracha, Rana Javed Mustafa, Rana Moeen-ud-Din, Tariq Paracha, Muhammad Hassan Paracha, and Hassan Masna.
Other notable attendees included District Table Tennis President Haji Anwar Bashir Ahmed, District Football Association President Muhammad Jabbar, Martial Arts President Aziz Samra, Tehsil Sports Officer Mian Channu Majid Gujjar, and Amir Ramzan, along with players and officials from various sports organizations.
Participants and guests appreciated the excellent arrangements made by the Sports Department, highlighting the importance of such events in promoting traditional sports like kabaddi at the grassroots level.
On this occasion, special shields were presented to Qulzam Bashir Ahmed by representatives of different sports associations, including Haji Anwar Bashir Ahmed (Table Tennis), Muhammad Jabbar (Football), Rana Moeen-ud-Din (Basketball), and Aziz Samra (Martial Arts), as well as by the District Press Club, in recognition of his outstanding services and cooperation.
