TEHRAN — Iran has adopted a measured stance on the ongoing diplomatic standoff, announcing that it is carefully reviewing American proposals and will communicate its final position to Washington through Pakistan.
Iranian Foreign Minister stated that Tehran is giving the matter thorough and detailed consideration, adding that the final position will be presented at an appropriate time. He emphasised that no hasty decisions would be made and that Iran’s response would be guided entirely by its national interests.
The development comes in the wake of a stern ultimatum issued by US President Donald Trump, who warned that failure to accept the agreed-upon deal would result in a resumption of military strikes at a far greater level of intensity than before.
Pakistan’s role as an intermediary has now taken on critical significance, with Islamabad emerging as a key communication channel between Washington and Tehran at one of the most sensitive junctures in recent Middle Eastern geopolitics.
Diplomatic observers have cautiously welcomed Iran’s willingness to engage with the proposals, viewing it as a potential opening for de-escalation. However, analysts warn that the situation remains highly fluid and that much will depend on the specifics of Tehran’s ultimate response.
The international community, particularly Gulf states and global energy markets, is watching the developments closely, as the outcome could have far-reaching consequences for regional stability and global oil supplies.
