LAHORE: Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan welcomed Bilawal Bhutto Zardari upon his arrival at Skardu Airport. Also present on the occasion were Syed Mehdi Shah and Pakistan Peoples Party leaders Nayyar Bukhari, Humayun Khan, Nadeem Afzal Chan and Najmuddin Khan.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan expressed confidence that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) would secure victory in the upcoming Gilgit-Baltistan elections with a strong public mandate. He said the PPP has consistently championed the rights of labourers and underprivileged segments of society and has always stood by its workers.
The Governor stated that the party leadership values dedicated workers and rewards them with responsibilities and positions. He added that the PPP has consistently placed national interests above personal and political considerations.
Referring to the party’s cooperation with the Pakistan Muslim League (N), he said the alliance was formed to promote political and economic stability in the country. He further remarked that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has emerged as one of Pakistan’s leading young political figures and has effectively presented Pakistan’s position on international forums while countering Indian narratives through diplomatic engagement.
Governor Saleem Haider Khan also said that the President, Prime Minister and the Field Marshal are united in their commitment to the country’s development. He noted that both the political and military leadership are working together to address national challenges.
Emphasizing the need for unity, he said that sustainable development and stability can only be achieved if all segments of society put aside their differences and work collectively for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan.
