LAHORE, June 3: To enhance monitoring of water filtration plants and ensure prompt resolution of public complaints across Punjab, a performance review meeting of the Punjab Saaf Pani Authority was held under the chairmanship of Bilal Yasin.
During the meeting, a comprehensive review of the operational performance of water filtration plants throughout the province was conducted. It was decided to modernize the Authority’s Complaint Management System and establish a dedicated monitoring squad comprising 100 motorcycles to improve field oversight.
Briefing the participants, CEO Captain (R) Syed Ali Asghar said that immediate action would be taken on complaints received through Helpline 1336, which was established on the directives of Maryam Nawaz. He added that monitoring mechanisms would be strengthened through geo-tagging and photographic evidence to ensure transparency and accountability.
The provincial minister directed the Authority to further improve its laboratory testing system for water quality assessment. He emphasized that projects aimed at providing clean drinking water in remote and underdeveloped areas should be completed on a priority basis.
Bilal Yasin stated that ensuring the provision of clean and safe drinking water remains one of the government’s foremost priorities. He stressed that access to clean water is a fundamental right of every citizen and warned that negligence in this regard would not be tolerated.
The meeting also reviewed the Punjab Saaf Pani Authority’s future strategy and expansion plans aimed at improving access to safe drinking water across the province.
