LAHORE: The Punjab Employees Social Security Institution (PESSI) says it is providing modern, quality, and timely healthcare services to millions of registered workers and their families through its network of 24 hospitals across Punjab.
According to PESSI, its hospitals performed 75,996 surgeries during the 2025–26 financial year, reflecting a significant expansion in healthcare services for industrial workers and their dependents.
The surgeries included cardiac, gynecology, orthopedic, neurosurgery, breast, eye, ENT (ear, nose and throat), appendectomy, gallbladder stone, stomach, urology, hernia, and several other specialized procedures.
In addition to surgical care, PESSI hospitals are providing comprehensive medical services in emergency, medicine, surgery, gynecology, pediatrics, cardiology, and other key specialties. The institution said that advanced medical equipment, experienced doctors, and trained healthcare professionals are helping improve the quality of treatment for patients.
PESSI Commissioner Zulfiqar Ali Kharal said that, under the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the institution is taking effective steps to ensure the best possible healthcare facilities for workers and their families.
He stated that providing modern medical treatment to registered workers remains PESSI’s top priority. He added that, in line with the Chief Minister’s vision, Social Security hospitals are being upgraded with modern infrastructure, advanced surgical technology, and new medical equipment.
Zulfiqar Ali Kharal further said that the institution is also establishing new hospitals and expanding existing healthcare facilities to strengthen the Social Security healthcare system and improve access to quality medical services for workers and their families across Punjab.
