LAHORE: The Excise, Taxation & Narcotics Control Department (ET&NC) Punjab has intensified its crackdown against the agent mafia and unauthorised private individuals by tightening the entry system at its Farid Court House office.
On the directives of Director Excise Region-C Jam Siraj, only relevant officials and genuine applicants are now being allowed to enter the Farid Court House Excise office after thorough verification.
According to sources, a special counter has also been established at the entrance of the office to facilitate and verify citizens.
Applicants’ vehicle and ownership-related information will be checked before the concerned citizen is allowed to enter the office, while touts and unauthorised agents have been barred from entering the premises.
For the assistance and guidance of citizens, a female inspector and a male inspector have also been deployed at the ground desk. They will guide applicants regarding their respective cases and help prevent interference by unauthorised individuals.
According to sources, Director Excise Region-C Jam Siraj has directed all concerned inspectors, constables and other staff members that unnecessary entry of private individuals into the office and any form of alleged corruption will not be tolerated.
The staff has also been directed to ensure transparency and facilitate citizens in obtaining departmental services without unnecessary delays or interference.
