LAHORE: A delegation of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) met Chairman Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) Moazzam Iqbal Sipra to discuss issues faced by freight forwarders and various taxation-related matters.
The meeting focused on addressing challenges confronting the business community and exploring measures to improve the tax system. Members of the delegation assured the PRA chairman that the Chamber would extend its full cooperation in promoting business registration and expanding the tax net.
Chairman PRA Moazzam Iqbal Sipra said the authority would further strengthen guidance and facilitation for the business community regarding sales tax on services. He highlighted the use of digital systems to improve convenience, transparency and effective monitoring of tax-related matters.
He emphasised that proposals and recommendations from business stakeholders would be given due consideration to make the taxation system more business-friendly. Cooperation from the business community, he added, was essential to broadening the tax base and ensuring better compliance with tax laws.
The PRA chairman also directed officials to organise special awareness sessions to educate business representatives about relevant tax laws, registration requirements and payment procedures.
He further stated that the Punjab government was taking practical measures to facilitate business activities and improve the efficiency of the tax payment process.
The meeting reflected a shared commitment to strengthening cooperation between the provincial tax authority and the business community to encourage formal business registration, improve tax compliance and support economic growth.
