Islamabad/Delhi: A chilling audio recording has gone viral on social media showing the captain of an Indian oil tanker desperately pleading during an alleged Iranian attack in the Strait of Hormuz.
In the audio, the captain can be heard saying:
“You gave us permission to pass yourself, but now you are firing on us. Please let us turn back.”
The captain is repeatedly begging the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Navy (IRGC Navy) to stop the attack. The recording clearly captures the panic and fear on board the vessel.
According to Indian media and official sources, the incident involved the Indian-flagged oil tanker “Sanmar Herald.” The ship sustained minor damage from the firing, but the crew remained safe. India has summoned Iran’s ambassador and lodged a strong protest, demanding guarantees for safe passage.
