Gold prices witnessed a sharp and sudden decline in international bullion markets on Tuesday, as the price per ounce dropped by a significant $89, bringing the new global rate to $4,627 per ounce.
The impact of falling global prices was immediately felt in domestic markets across Pakistan. The price of gold per tola declined by Rs. 8,900, settling at Rs. 485,062, while the price per 10 grams fell by Rs. 7,630 to reach Rs. 415,862.
Silver Prices Also Take a Hit
Silver was not immune to the downturn either. In international bullion markets, the price of silver per ounce dropped by $2.38 cents, sliding to $73.27 per ounce.
Consequently, local silver rates also registered a notable decrease. The price of silver per tola fell by Rs. 238 to Rs. 7,811, while silver per 10 grams declined by Rs. 204 to Rs. 6,696.
