LAHORE: The Pakistan Chemical Manufacturers Association (PCMA) has announced that the Pakistan Chemical Expo 2026 will be held on June 5–6 at the Lahore Expo Centre, bringing together industry leaders, policymakers, investors and international stakeholders to explore opportunities in Pakistan’s growing chemical sector.
The announcement was made during a press conference attended by Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) President Faheem ur Rehman Saigol, PCMA Chairman Haroon Ali Khan, Chairman Expo Committee Ans Mehmood, and Abrar Ahmed.
Speakers highlighted the strategic importance of the chemical industry in driving economic growth, industrial innovation and global competitiveness. They said Pakistan has the potential to achieve up to $5 billion in import substitution and generate more than $2 billion in additional exports over the next five years through targeted investments, technology transfer and the development of a world-scale naphtha cracker and petrochemical complex.
Addressing the media, LCCI President Faheem ur Rehman Saigol said the chemical sector could play a vital role in reducing Pakistan’s reliance on imports while strengthening the country’s export base.
“The development of the chemical industry can become a cornerstone of sustainable economic growth,” he said, adding that the initiative represents more than a trade exhibition and serves as a platform for industrial self-reliance, innovation and long-term economic progress.
PCMA Chairman Haroon Ali Khan said the expo reflects the association’s commitment to positioning Pakistan as a competitive participant in the global chemical economy. He noted that the event would encourage new business partnerships, support industrial innovation and contribute to the advancement of Pakistan’s national chemical strategy.
He further stated that Pakistan’s chemical and petrochemical market exceeds $14 billion annually, with more than half of domestic demand currently met through imports. According to him, the country imports approximately $14–15 billion worth of chemicals, petrochemicals, plastics, pharmaceutical intermediates and industrial raw materials each year, placing significant pressure on foreign exchange reserves.
Chairman Expo Committee Ans Mehmood said the event aims to attract international attention to Pakistan’s industrial potential while providing local manufacturers with access to advanced technologies, new markets and strategic global partnerships.
He added that the Pakistan Chemical Expo 2026 is expected to serve as a premier platform for industry stakeholders and contribute to the future development of the country’s chemical sector.
The two-day exhibition will feature business-to-business (B2B) matchmaking sessions, product displays, technical seminars, panel discussions and policy dialogues, offering participants opportunities to explore emerging industry trends, technological advancements and investment prospects.
