LAHORE: Commissioner Punjab Social Security Zulfiqar Ali Kharal chaired an important meeting of the Medical Wing Performance Review to assess healthcare service delivery and operational preparedness across Social Security hospitals.
During the meeting, a detailed review was conducted regarding the availability and stock position of medicines in Social Security hospitals. Participants also examined progress on the procurement and operational readiness of medical equipment, ambulances, and Mobile Outreach Units.
The Commissioner was briefed on the full functionality and preparedness of ambulances and informed about the deployment plan for Mobile Outreach Units aimed at ensuring uninterrupted healthcare services for workers and their families.
The meeting also reviewed progress on the establishment of the Occupational Safety and Health Management Centre, being developed in collaboration with the Health Services Academy, as well as developments regarding the establishment of a Nursing College.
The Director Works provided a briefing on ongoing construction projects in Social Security hospitals.
Commissioner Zulfiqar Ali Kharal directed the concerned authorities to submit regular reports on medicine stocks, medical equipment, ambulance functionality, and the performance of Mobile Outreach Units. He emphasized that the uninterrupted availability of essential medicines must be ensured at all times.
He further instructed that medical equipment and ambulances should undergo regular inspections and remain fully operational. The Commissioner also directed officials to finalize and continuously monitor the routes and schedules of Mobile Outreach Units to ensure effective service delivery.
Making it clear that delays would not be tolerated, he instructed departments concerned to expedite ongoing construction projects and ensure timely completion.
Commissioner Zulfiqar Ali Kharal said that, in line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, providing the best possible healthcare facilities to workers remains the department’s top priority.
