LAHORE, June 12: Adviser to the Chief Minister Punjab, Rashid Iqbal Nasrullah, paid a detailed visit to Greater Iqbal Park on Friday to review ongoing development and construction projects and assess the progress of infrastructure upgrades aimed at enhancing public recreational facilities.
During the visit, Managing Director PHA Lahore Raja Mansoor Ahmad provided a comprehensive briefing on the status of various development initiatives underway in the park. Additional MD PHA Lahore Nabeel Riaz Sandhu, Project Director Shah Nawaz Wattoo, Director Engineering Ms. Samavia, and other senior officials were also present.
Rashid Iqbal Nasrullah directed the concerned authorities to ensure the timely completion of all ongoing projects and emphasized the need to provide visitors with modern, high-quality recreational facilities in a safe and pleasant environment.
Later, the adviser visited the National History Museum located within Greater Iqbal Park, where he inspected historical exhibits and memorabilia highlighting Pakistan’s struggle for independence. Appreciating the museum’s maintenance and preservation efforts, he described it as an important component of Pakistan’s historical heritage.
“The National History Museum serves as an excellent platform to educate younger generations about the Pakistan Movement and the sacrifices made by the nation’s forefathers,” he said.
The adviser also noted that the construction of a cricket ground and a traditional wrestling arena within Greater Iqbal Park would help promote traditional sports and encourage healthy recreational activities among young people.
Speaking on the occasion, Managing Director PHA Lahore Raja Mansoor Ahmad reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to completing all development projects within the stipulated timeframe and ensuring the provision of the best possible facilities for citizens.
He said that maintaining public parks and providing high-quality recreational amenities remain among the top priorities of PHA Lahore, adding that ongoing improvements are aimed at enhancing the overall visitor experience at one of the city’s most prominent public spaces.
