LAHORE: In line with Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision to make Lahore greener, more beautiful and smog-free, the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) has launched a citywide plantation campaign featuring flowering trees.
Managing Director Horticulture Agency Lahore, Ahmad Usman Javed, said that hundreds of new Amaltas saplings have been planted along Lake City Road in Zone 7 as part of the campaign.
He said the PHA will also plant Gulmohar, Jacaranda, Gul Nishter and Buddha trees at various locations across the city.
According to the MD, suitable spaces for the plantation of flowering trees have been identified in all PHA zones to expand green cover and improve the city’s landscape.
Ahmad Usman Javed said the initiative aims not only to enhance Lahore’s aesthetic appeal but also to contribute to efforts aimed at addressing climate challenges and improving the urban environment.
He added that the plantation drive reflects the PHA’s commitment to creating a greener, healthier and more environmentally sustainable Lahore.
