New Delhi: Bollywood actor and dancer Nora Fatehi has once again made headlines in connection with the alleged Rs 200-crore extortion case involving conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar. A Delhi court has issued summons to Nora Fatehi to appear as a prosecution witness in the case and directed her to record her statement on November 2, 2026.
Her name was included as a witness in the third supplementary chargesheet filed in the case. Additional Sessions Judge Gagandeep Singh, in an order issued on October 16, listed Nora Fatehi alias Norah Fatehi as Witness No. 3 (LW-3) in the third supplementary chargesheet and directed that she be summoned to appear before the court on November 2.
According to the court order, Nora Fatehi will have to depose about the facts and circumstances related to the case. It is pertinent to mention that Nora Fatehi has been summoned as a prosecution witness, not as an accused, in the matter. The issuance of summons for testimony means that the court seeks to record her statement and obtain relevant information during the proceedings.
The case originated from a complaint registered with the Delhi Police Economic Offences Wing, in which it was alleged that Sukesh Chandrasekhar committed offences of extortion and cheating involving nearly Rs 200 crore while he was lodged in jail. The complaint was filed by Aditi Singh, wife of former Fortis Healthcare promoter Shivinder Mohan Singh.
According to the allegations, Sukesh Chandrasekhar contacted Aditi Singh between 2020 and 2021 while posing as a senior government official. He allegedly assured her that he could help secure the release of her husband, who was in jail, and reportedly collected a huge sum of money in return for this promise. The Delhi Police Economic Offences Wing investigated the matter and filed a chargesheet under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA).
During the investigation, Nora Fatehi’s name also surfaced in connection with her alleged links with Sukesh Chandrasekhar and his wife, Leena Maria Paul. The Delhi Police Economic Offences Wing questioned Nora Fatehi for several hours in September 2022. During questioning, Nora said that she had attended a charity event hosted by Sukesh’s wife, Leena Maria Paul. According to her statement, she was given a Gucci bag and an iPhone as gifts at the event, and was later connected to Sukesh Chandrasekhar over the phone.
According to Nora, Sukesh introduced himself as her fan and offered to gift her a BMW car. In connection with the car, a person named Shekhar contacted her; however, Nora reportedly refused to accept the vehicle and instead provided the contact number of her relative, Bobby Khan. The BMW car was later found registered in Bobby Khan’s name. During police questioning, Bobby reportedly admitted receiving a BMW car worth around Rs 65 lakh from Sukesh.
During the investigation into Sukesh Chandrasekhar’s case, the name of another Bollywood actor, Jacqueline Fernandez, had also surfaced. The names of both actors were also listed as witnesses in the supplementary chargesheet filed in January 2023. However, the legal status of both actors has remained different. The Enforcement Directorate named Jacqueline Fernandez as an accused in the money-laundering case related to alleged expensive gifts received from Sukesh, while Nora Fatehi’s name was included as a prosecution witness in the Delhi Police’s third supplementary chargesheet.
Nora had stated during the investigation that she was a victim of the entire scheme and claimed that she was unaware of Sukesh’s real identity and his alleged criminal activities. Her representatives have also denied her involvement in any illegal activities or money laundering in the past.
During the case, Nora Fatehi had also filed a Rs 200-crore defamation suit against Jacqueline Fernandez and 15 media organisations. Nora alleged that false and derogatory information was spread about her, damaging her reputation and image. She also claimed that her name was wrongly linked to the Sukesh Chandrasekhar case.
Nora Fatehi’s appearance and testimony before the Rouse Avenue Court on November 2 is now being seen as an important development in this high-profile case. Her statement before the court is expected to shed further light on certain aspects of Sukesh Chandrasekhar’s alleged extortion network and the related investigation.
