LAHORE: The Department of Parasitology at the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore, in collaboration with the Pakistan Society of Parasitology and the Pakistan Science Foundation, organized the concluding ceremony of a two-day workshop on “Bio-pesticides in Vector Control” at the City Campus Lahore.
The concluding session was presided over by UVAS Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Masood Rabbani, who distributed certificates among participants and resource persons. Dean Faculty of Veterinary Science Prof. Dr. Kamran Ashraf, Prof. Dr. Ali Ahmad Sheikh, Prof. Dr. Haroon Akbar, Dr. Muhammad Oneeb, along with researchers and participants, also attended the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Masood Rabbani appreciated the efforts of the organizers for arranging an informative workshop on a highly relevant topic. He encouraged students to strengthen both theoretical knowledge and practical skills related to their respective fields.
He stressed the importance of laboratory training, understanding equipment usage, ISO standards, quality control and assurance, as well as professional skills such as report writing and financial management. He noted that such competencies are essential for students when they enter the job market and face interviews.
During the workshop, various aspects related to vector-borne diseases, bio-pesticides, molecular and nano-based approaches, and their application and evaluation were discussed in detail.
