KARACHI: A judicial commission formed to probe the murder of young entrepreneur Mir Raza issued written orders on Friday regarding proceedings from Thursday, ARY News reported.
The commission has summoned Gulistan-e-Jauhar Station House Officer (SHO) Kamran Qureshi and Head Moharrir Zeeshan. The police officers have been ordered to appear before the commission at 11:00 AM on September 7 to record their statements, submit affidavits, and present relevant case records.
Meanwhile, Mir Raza’s business partner, Ahmed Bharday, received a notice from the Sindh Board of Revenue on Friday ordering him to provide payment receipts for Foodpanda.
Additionally, the commission recorded statements from the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sharea Faisal and four eyewitnesses, including Bykea driver Ahsan Ullah.
Ahsan Ullah informed the commission that following his involvement in the Mir Raza case, the Bykea administration revoked his vehicle access, and his landlord evicted him from his home. Consequently, he has been forced to reside at the Ferozabad police station.
The commission directed investigation member Siraj Lashari to assist the driver in recovering his job and securing alternative housing. Expressing anger over the situation, the commission lamented that an individual who aided the victim’s family was receiving punishment from the system instead of reward.
The commission instructed police to ensure that neither the Bykea administration nor the landlord faces harassment, while reiterating its directive for authorities to help the driver restore his livelihood and shelter.
Furthermore, the commission bound SHO Adeel Afzal, Razaq, and Hessam to appear before it at the next hearing.
