Ali Jafri Karachi DHA case

KARACHI: Ali Jafri, a young man who was allegedly subjected to brutal violence in Defence Phase 8, said that he was taken to a gaming zone under false pretences on the day of the incident.

Speaking to the media, Ali Jafri said that Ali Faisal, who allegedly plays the game “Deadshot,” had been absconding for about a week and took him to the gaming zone on a pretext. He said that Ibrahim Shati later arrived at the location.

According to Ali, the individuals allegedly took him away in a vehicle at gunpoint and abandoned him in an open field in Phase 8.

He said the men told him to apologize, and he did whatever they instructed him to do. He was also allegedly told to arrange money from his home because they wanted to buy drugs.

Ali Jafri said that he works at night and attends classes in the morning. He alleged that he was blackmailed using videos of his family and maintained that he had never been involved in any financial dealings with anyone.

The victim further said that no one from his family had been contacted regarding the matter. “If I do not speak up today, something could happen to someone else tomorrow,” he said.

A day earlier, Ali Jafri’s teacher, Abdullah Jamal, spoke to the media outside the Sahil Police Station.

He said that the children involved had subjected Ali to violence and that their parents had wanted to resolve the matter. According to Jamal, the police made them wait for two hours in the hope that an agreement could be reached between the two families. However, he said, “We want justice for Ali.”
