Punjab’s health authorities have ordered an immediate halt to the release, distribution and supply of a batch of Glycosting injection, citing reports of a suspected adverse drug reaction.
The Directorate of Drugs Control, Punjab, issued the medicine stoppage alert under Alert No. 125/2026.
The affected product is Glycosting 1ml injection, containing glycopyrrolate 0.5mg and neostigmine methylsulfate 2.5mg. The alert identifies the affected batch as BBG11, with an expiry date of January 2028.
The authorities said the product had been reported to cause a suspected adverse drug reaction described as ‘severe bradycardia’, or an unusually slow heart rate, at multiple healthcare facilities across Punjab.
The Provincial Quality Control Board (PQCB) has directed that the medicine be stopped as a precaution while further investigation and regulatory action are carried out.
Manufacturers and market authorization holders have been instructed to immediately stop the release, distribution and supply of the affected batch and submit relevant manufacturing, quality-control, distribution, complaint and pharmacovigilance records to the authorities.
Pharmacies, wholesalers, distributors and healthcare facilities have also been told to stop administering, dispensing, selling, supplying or otherwise distributing the affected batch and quarantine any remaining stock.
Healthcare facilities have been advised to report inventory and consumption records to the relevant Drug Inspector.
It was also advised patients and consumers not to use or receive the affected batch as a precautionary measure.
