QUETTA: Balochistan government officials on Thursday took an oath not to allow the sale or purchase of government jobs, following strict directives from Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti.
Addressing a meeting of the Secretaries Committee, CM Bugti warned that no government job would be sold in the province and said that if credible evidence of job-selling was found in any department, neither its minister nor secretary would remain in office.
In a statement on X, the chief minister said he had made it clear from the outset that no government jobs would be sold and that the provincial cabinet and chief secretary were on the same page on the issue.
He ordered a high-level inquiry into complaints of irregularities in recruitment in the Forest Department, saying those found guilty after impartial investigations would not escape punishment.

“All secretaries must take an oath before Allah that they will not allow the jobs of Balochistan’s youth to be sold,” Bugti said, directing officials to closely monitor subordinate staff and recruitment committees.
He said the government would withstand any pressure to prevent the sale of jobs, but would not compromise on the rights of the province’s youth.
Bugti said establishing meritocracy was essential to restoring young people’s trust in the state and directed officials to ensure strict implementation of his orders.
He also said there would be no space for error and no forgiveness in this regard.
