The Ministry of Commerce confirmed that commercial stores and verified online sellers have initiated discounts on more than 12 million products across the Kingdom in anticipation of the upcoming Saudi National Day celebrations.
The discounts, covering a wide range of basic consumer products, retail electronics, clothing, household necessities, and luxury items available to residents, are a part of the Kingdom-wide seasonal promotions campaign to boost domestic retail trade while providing consumers significant savings benefit across all regions of the Kingdom during the upcoming festive event.
The Ministry revealed that it has issued over 3,500 official discount licenses to authorized commercial outlets and licensed digital merchants to keep a well-organized marketplace and protect consumer interests.
As part of a uniform licensing system, each license allows a commercial outlet to officially offer promotional discounts on its products throughout all of its regional outlets, branches, and digital storefronts.
The license also provides consumers with an easy verification process that helps them ascertain the validity of the official discount offer by simply scanning the bar code on the unified electronic code issued by the business using their mobile phones cameras.
The scan instantly links to the license information on the Ministry’s platform, providing details such as the percentage of discount offered on the price, the official duration of the promotion, and the full specifications of the licensed business responsible for the discount.
The Ministry has also emphasized that its field inspection teams will undertake continuous market auditing across commercial centers, shopping malls, and digital commercial portals in each region of the Kingdom to maintain the integrity of the market and protect consumer interests during the extended shopping event.
