KARACHI: Sindh and China’s Hunan province signed a Letter of Interest as sister provinces during the China visit of a delegation led by senior provincial minister Sharjeel Memon.
The letter of interest signed by Sharjeel Inam Memon, Sindh’s senior minister for transport and information and DG Hunan Foreign Affairs Office.
Special assistant to the Sindh chief minister, Qassim Naveed Qamar and consul general of Pakistan in Guangzhou, Yasir Iqbal Butt also attended the ceremony.
Under the LoI, it was decided to promote institutional coordination between Sindh and Hunan and increasing contacts among the businesses of the two provinces.
The sides will expand the partnership in sectors of investment, technology and exchange of knowledge under the understanding.
The sides also vowed to promote new opportunities and cooperation between the people and the business concerns.
“The signing of the letter of interest has been a key step for mutual cooperation,” according to a press statement.
A spokesman of the information minister has said that this progress has surfaced after President Asif Ali Zardari’s visit of Hunan.
