The government of Pakistan has announced new prices for petrol and diesel, with petrol becoming more expensive and diesel prices being reduced.
The Petroleum Division issued a notification after approval by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).
The new prices will take effect from midnight and remain in place until Monday night.
Under the revised rates, petrol has increased by Rs. 2.02 per litre to Rs. 391.30 per litre, while diesel has decreased by Rs. 3.59 per litre to Rs. 408.53 per litre.
OGRA approved the revised prices for the period from 26 to 28 September 2026.
The changes come amid continuing fluctuations in international oil prices and domestic fuel costs.
Petrol Relief Scheme:
Under the Petrol Relief Scheme, motorcycle and Cingchi rickshaw owners get a Rs.100 per litre discount on up to 20 litres of petrol per month.
Owners of vehicles with engines up to 800cc are eligible for discounted petrol of up to 30 litres per month.
How to register
To register for the discounted petrol, applicants should send an SMS containing the following information to 9771: citizens write REG, CNIC number, Vehicle registration number, First word of the province name and Vehicle registration date.
Once registration is completed, applicants will receive a confirmation message on their mobile phone.
How to obtain the petrol token
Before visiting a petrol station, applicants should send TOK to 9771.
They will then receive a token number by SMS. The token number should be presented at the petrol station to claim the discounted petrol.
A confirmation message will be sent after the transaction is completed.
