Caitlin Clark goes historic as Fever force game 2 thriller

Caitlin Clark Delivers Historic Performance

Knocked out of the playoffs in person, Caitlin Clark scored a historic, blazing 20-point second-half performance to carry the Indiana Fever to a 99-89 win over the top-seeded Las Vegas Aces in Game 2 of their WNBA playoff series Saturday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The best-of-three series is tied 1-1.

Game Recap: How the Fever Forced Game 3

After a hard-fought 102-85 Game 1 loss, Indiana arrived for Game 2 with their backs against the wall and an aggressive attitude.

Clark dictated the pace early, running the Fever’s transition attack and generating scoring opportunities in the paint. Indiana owned a 48-43 lead at intermission and stretched its advantage to 15 late in the third quarter.

But even with Clark in foul trouble and ultimately fouled out with less than three minutes to play, the core of Indiana was solid. After Las Vegas made a late run to close to 92-87 with 2:11 to play, Aliyah Boston sank a big inside jumper, and Kelsey Mitchell went to the line for some clutch free throws.

“You were the spark for us tonight… I think she’s just going to be flying on a whole other level for Game 3.” – Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White
