The federal government has contacted the Sindh government on complaints about the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) and asked it to conduct an independent and transparent inquiry.

The MDCAT is a key entrance examination for students seeking admission to medical and dental colleges in Pakistan.

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) has written to Sindh’s health minister, asking the provincial government to investigate allegations linked to the examination.

The Sindh government has been directed to complete the inquiry and submit a report within two weeks.

The development follows complaints on social media alleging that the MDCAT question paper had been leaked, and lawmakers had also raised concerns over the credibility and transparency of the examination.

The chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Health had expressed serious concerns over the alleged paper leak and called on the PM&DC to ensure a transparent investigation.

Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal also took notice of the complaints last week and sought a report from the PM&DC within 15 days.
