ISLAMABAD, August 24, 2026: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan has said that the opposition alliance is currently limited to the floor of the National Assembly and legislation, ARY News reported.

Speaking before a meeting of the united opposition, Barrister Gohar said there was a desire in the past, and still is, for JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman to become part of the alliance.

He said political parties should unite on an agenda focused on strengthening the country, Parliament and the Election Commission. He added that PPP representatives had also visited and political parties should maintain communication and dialogue with each other.

Barrister Gohar said PTI founder Imran Khan had assigned Asad Qaiser and Allama Raja Nasir Abbas the authority to handle opposition movements and political affairs.

He said political workers had been instructed not to raise slogans against anyone and to maintain decency during discussions.

Speaking to the media, Asad Qaiser said the alliance was currently aimed at cooperation within Parliament. He said the opposition would give the government a tough time inside Parliament and there was no other option.

Asad Qaiser said no decision had been made regarding a no-confidence motion.
