Huawei is set to introduce the successor to its Watch 5 next week, confirming in a teaser video that the new smartwatch will officially debut on Wednesday, September 2.

The unveiling will take place during the “Chase the Wild” launch event in Munich, where Huawei will also announce the global launch of the Watch GT 7 and the Watch D3, a smartwatch designed to monitor blood pressure.

In the teaser, the new smartwatch appears in gold, silver, and black, each paired with a silicone sports strap. So far, there is no sign of a titanium strap version in the preview.

Apart from the colors, the design is virtually unchanged from the previous model. As before, Huawei has opted for a round display with a narrow, labeled bezel, a metal case with a button, and a digital crown.

The X-Tap sensor is on the right side. Touching it with your finger activates all the smartwatch’s sensors. It can measure heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, and skin temperature, and perform an ECG, among other functions.

The two sensor areas on the X-Tap are slightly larger than before, suggesting Huawei is updating the smartwatch’s sensors.

There are no more details yet about the new features of the Huawei Watch 6. As with the Watch GT 7, hardware changes may be minor, and Huawei will focus on new software features
