The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development in Saudi Arabia has announced that 23 September 2026 will be a public holiday for employees in the private and non-profit sectors to mark the country’s 96th National Day.
The Ministry said in a statement on its official X account that the holiday will fall on Wednesday, 12 Rabi al-Thani 1448 AH, corresponding to September 23, 2026, and will be an official holiday for employees in the private and non-profit sectors.
The ministry said the decision was made in accordance with Article 24 of the Executive Regulations of the Labor Law. It added that employers must follow the mechanism set out in the second paragraph of the article.
Saudi Arabia celebrates its National Day on September 23 each year, commemorating the unification of Saudi Arabia by its founder King Abdulaziz in 1932.
