ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Junaid Akbar has warned that the party will not approach Islamabad through a single route and said protesters will also enter the federal capital through the motorway and from the Margalla Hills, ARY News reported.
Addressing supporters, Junaid Akbar said that during the previous protest, they had considered the state as a mother and did not know that it could open fire on them.
He said that they were not in a position to protest during the previous attempt, adding that they picked up the bodies and returned.
“This time, we know that the state will open fire,” Junaid Akbar said.
He said that this time they would not pick up the bodies and remain silent.
“If this happens again, we will pick up the bodies and new people will come,” the PTI leader said.
Junaid Akbar further said, “I make you a witness, we will turn Islamabad into Somnath.”
Earlier, Aleema Khan, sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, has been taken into custody by police, ARY News reported on Sunday, quoting family sources.
Family sources said Aleema Khan was detained near Lahore Gymkhana. She was taken into custody by Lytton Road police under the Maintenance of Public Order (3-MPO) law.
According to the sources, the deputy commissioner issued the 3-MPO detention order on the police’s request.
Lawyer Khalid Yousaf said he had spoken to Aleema Khan over the phone shortly before she was taken into custody. Her vehicle was subsequently parked at Lytton Road Police Station, according to the sources.
Further details regarding the grounds for her detention were not immediately available.
