QUETTA: Security forces killed four terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Hindustan during an operation in Balochistan’s Panjgur district, security sources said on Monday.
The operation was conducted under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3 as security forces continued their actions against militants in different areas of the province.
According to security sources, the operation was carried out in the Aphan-e-Koh area of Prom in Panjgur after reports of the presence of terrorists there. An exchange of fire took place between the security forces and the militants during the operation.
Four terrorists were killed in the exchange, the sources said, adding that a large quantity of modern weapons and ammunition was recovered from their possession.
Security forces said operations against terrorists were continuing and would remain underway until the elimination of the last militant.
Earlier operation near Kalat
A day earlier, security forces foiled an attempt by terrorists to disrupt public movement on the N-25 highway near Kalat, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
According to the ISPR, the terrorists had established a checkpoint to carry out kidnappings, extortion and vehicle snatching.
Five terrorists killed, 23 hostages recovered in operation near Kalat: ISPR
Following timely action by security forces, five terrorists were killed and 23 kidnapped individuals were safely recovered from their hideouts, the ISPR said.
Security forces also recovered six trucks, three buses and two cars from the militants’ hideouts.
A large quantity of weapons, ammunition and explosives was also seized during the operation, according to the ISPR.
