PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi is facing a no-confidence threat, with Sher Afzal Marwat confirming an ARY News report about growing differences within the PTI leadership.
Speaking about the matter, Sher Afzal Marwat said PTI founder Imran Khan had sent a message regarding Sohail Afridi through lawyer Salman Safdar.
According to Marwat, Imran Khan conveyed that the Islamabad march might be beyond Sohail Afridi’s capabilities and told Salman Safdar that the KP chief minister should step down.
Marwat said Bushra Bibi’s family and Noor Niazi also confirmed the messages from Imran Khan regarding Sohail Afridi.
He said Imran Khan also discussed other matters concerning Sohail Afridi with Noor Niazi in the presence of Bushra Bibi.
According to Marwat, Imran Khan expressed extreme displeasure with Sohail Afridi, Salman Akram and two other individuals.
Marwat said Nooreen Niazi told Imran Khan that Ali Amin Gandapur had formed a pressure group to make Sohail Afridi unsuccessful.
According to Nooreen Niazi, 35 MPAs were ready to revolt against Sohail Afridi, Marwat said.
He said Imran Khan asked Nooreen Niazi what the 35 MPAs were demanding.
Nooreen Niazi responded that the lawmakers believed Sohail Afridi was unable to do anything, according to Marwat.
Marwat said Imran Khan told Nooreen Niazi that the MPAs’ criticism was correct.
He further claimed that even if the PTI managed to hold the march, Sohail Afridi’s government would not survive.
Marwat said there would be no pardon from Imran Khan even if the PTI failed to hold the march.
