KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) has expressed serious reservations over the conduct and results of the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT 2026), demanding that the results be annulled and an independent inquiry initiated, ARY News reported.
MQM-P Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Adil Askari sent a letter to Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, raising critical concerns regarding the exam conducted by IBA Sukkur Testing Services and highlighting widespread anxiety among students over alleged irregularities.
In his letter, the lawmaker outlined key demands to ensure transparency:
CCTV & Center Review:
A detailed review of CCTV footage from exam centers across Sindh and complete transparency during the paper-scanning process.
OMR Sheet Rechecking:
Verification of a random sample of Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheets against the original answer keys.
Independent Probe:
A thorough audit of the entire MDCAT 2026 examination process to determine whether standard operating procedures (SOPs) were followed and to address student complaints.
Furthermore, Askari proposed long-term testing reforms, urging the Sindh government to establish an independent, professional examination board. He suggested adopting transparent examination practices modeled after institutions like the British Council or leading private universities.
