QUETTA: The Balochistan government has announced fully funded foreign PhD scholarships under the Balochistan Education Endowment Fund (BEEF), ARY News reported.
Under the program, ten competent and deserving students from the province will be awarded scholarships to study at recognized international universities every year.
Commenting on the initiative, Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfaraz Bugti called the scheme a milestone for the province’s bright future, stating that the journey of Balochistan’s youth toward the world’s top universities has officially begun.
“This initiative is a step toward changing the future of our province, ensuring that the youth of Balochistan will not fall behind the rest of the world in pursuit of opportunities,” the Chief Minister said.
He added that gaining admission to top global universities will now become a reality for local students, describing the scholarships as a new portal of hope, knowledge, and development for coming generations.
CM Bugti emphasized that the provincial government is confronting terrorism by providing opportunities for education, awareness, and progress.
“The future of Balochistan does not hide in the mountains with a gun,” he remarked, reiterating that young people who earn distinction in education and research represent the real future of the province. “Our goal is to give our youth a prominent position on the global education and research map.”
