Rana Sanaullah accuses PTI of using KP resources for Islamabad march

Rana Sanaullah PTI Islamabad march

ISLAMABAD: Adviser to the Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah has accused Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of pursuing an agenda of political instability, saying no demand can be forced upon the state by holding it hostage through unrest.

Speaking about the country’s political situation, Rana Sanaullah said PTI’s “only agenda” was to create political instability.

He said a culture of intolerance, hatred and verbal abuse had been introduced into politics, claiming that PTI had been successful to a considerable extent in achieving its objectives.

Rana Sanaullah said political tolerance had once been a distinguishing feature of Pakistani politics but had been replaced by a culture of abuse and intolerance.

He added that the same environment of abusive discourse continued to be created on traditional and social media.

According to Rana Sanaullah, PTI had consistently pursued what he described as its agenda of political instability. He recalled that the party had marched on Islamabad in 2014 and staged a 126-day sit-in.

He said Islamabad had subsequently remained a key political focus for PTI and alleged that the party was once again attempting to march on the capital.

Rana Sanaullah claimed that all available resources of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government were being used for the purpose.

Responding to questions regarding personnel from Customs and the police, he said the officials involved were residents and citizens of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and questioned why they should be described as belonging to the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz or another province.

He said a review of the past 10 years showed a long list of people who had lost their lives in the line of duty.
