Keyboard PCs are far from a new idea, with HP, for example, offering such a product in the form of the EliteBoard G1a ($1,879 on Amazon). The Hero Keyboard, however, is intended to be much more versatile, especially on the go. With an integrated trackpad, the device looks more like the bottom half of a laptop than a desktop keyboard.
Using the companion app, the Hero Keyboard can be connected to an Apple iPad or an Android tablet to use the tablet as a display, effectively turning the Hero Keyboard into a laptop.
Although an iPhone app is not yet available, apps such as Duet or Spacedesk can also turn the Apple iPhone Duo into a Windows PC in this way. An optional case allows the Hero Keyboard to be carried together with a tablet, making the package look like a relatively thick laptop.
The 720-gram keyboard computer is available exclusively with an Intel Core Ultra 5 125H, 16 GB of RAM and a 512 GB SSD, although the M.2 SSD can be upgraded after purchase. Hero Devices advertises up to nine hours of battery life, support for two 4K monitors, Wi-Fi 6 and a total of eight ports, including three USB-C ports, two USB-A ports and Ethernet.
The keyboard is backlit. Unlike the HP EliteBoard G1a, the Hero Keyboard can also be used simply as an external Bluetooth keyboard with a trackpad for PCs, Macs and mobile devices.
The Hero Keyboard will launch in the US and Canada in the fourth quarter of 2026, where interested customers can already reserve the Founder’s Edition for $999, while the Sidekick Case costs an extra $50. A 100-watt USB-C charger is included.
