PESHAWAR: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Ikhtiar Wali Khan has criticised the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), saying the party failed to deliver in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over the past 13 years, ARY News reported.
Addressing a joining ceremony, Ikhtiar Wali questioned whether anyone had seen an example of a welfare state in the province. He said corruption cases were being exposed every day, alleging that those who called others thieves and robbers had themselves been involved in theft.
He said PTI leaders had become wealthy in the name of change. “Tell me where are the promised 5 million houses and 10 million jobs?” he asked, adding that no one had even seen the maps of the promised 5 million houses.
Ikhtiar Wali also questioned the PTI’s claim of establishing a state based on the principles of Madina, asking whether anyone had seen even an hour of such a state.
He said people associated with the PTI had a different financial status 10 years ago but had now become billionaires and trillionaires.
The PML-N leader claimed that a butcher in Swat, who previously owned a small shop, had bought a palace and now possessed assets worth Rs50 billion to Rs60 billion.
He further alleged that people who once owned small flour shops had purchased large hotels.
“Was this the change that was promised? Was this the revolution?” he asked.
