Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a significant meeting with the US Chargé d’Affaires in Islamabad, during which the two sides engaged in detailed discussions on the prevailing regional situation and the ongoing US-Iran tensions.
Dar conveyed clearly that an extension of the temporary ceasefire is essential for regional stability. He reaffirmed that Pakistan has always stood on the side of peace and that continued efforts to bring all parties back to the negotiating table remain a critical necessity at this sensitive juncture.
The Foreign Minister stressed that statements alone are not sufficient — concrete and serious measures are needed to reduce tensions. He warned that if the ceasefire is not extended, the resulting regional instability would have far-reaching consequences for the entire neighborhood, including Pakistan itself.
Dar urged the US Chargé d’Affaires to ensure that Washington plays its role in leveraging its influence to keep both parties engaged in dialogue. Pakistan, he affirmed, stands ready to provide every possible facilitation in support of this process.
