Police Martyrs’ Day: Families of Fallen Heroes Honoured with State Protocol in Khanewal

KHANEWAL: A dignified and emotionally moving ceremony was held at the Rathore Mahal Event Complex to commemorate Police Martyrs’ Day, where rich tributes were paid to the brave police martyrs of Khanewal and their families.

The families of the fallen police personnel were accorded full state protocol and escorted from the District Police Officer (DPO) Office to the event venue. Upon their arrival, they were warmly received with flower petals showered in their honour as a mark of respect and gratitude.

District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Abid and Deputy Commissioner Hina Arshad attended the ceremony as chief guests, while the families of the police martyrs were the guests of honour. The event was also attended by Member of the National Assembly Muhammad Khan Daha, Member of the Provincial Assembly Rana Muhammad Saleem Hanif, senior officers of law enforcement and security agencies, District Bar President Meher Rafiq Ahmad Mallana Advocate, General Secretary Mustafa Khan Pahora Advocate, District Press Club President Ahmad Raza Qadri, General Secretary Chaudhry Adnan Saeed, Chairman Abdul Latif Anwar, senior police officers and a large number of distinguished guests.

The ceremony began with a one-minute silence in memory of the brave police officers and personnel who laid down their lives while fighting criminals and protecting public peace and safety.

Representatives of the martyrs’ families expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Khanewal Police for the honour and respect shown to them. They said the love, encouragement and continued support of the Punjab Police gave them confidence that the force never forgets its martyrs or stands apart from their families.

Speaking on the occasion, MNA Muhammad Khan Daha said the sacrifices of police martyrs have ensured peace, justice and the rule of law in society. He described the families of the martyrs as deserving of the highest respect and said it is the collective responsibility of society to support and care for them.

MPA Rana Muhammad Saleem Hanif said the welfare and well-being of the families of police martyrs remain a top priority of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. He added that the sacrifices of the martyrs would always be remembered and their families would continue to receive the nation’s highest honour.

Deputy Commissioner Hina Arshad said the extraordinary sacrifices of police martyrs could never be forgotten and would continue to inspire future generations to serve the nation with courage and dedication.

Addressing the gathering, DPO Muhammad Abid paid glowing tribute to the families of the martyrs, saying he saluted their courage, resilience and unmatched sacrifices. He said Police Martyrs’ Day is observed to honour the everlasting sacrifices of police officers and personnel and to reaffirm solidarity with their families.

The DPO also revealed that 41 officers and personnel of Khanewal Police have embraced martyrdom while combating criminals and protecting the lives and property of citizens.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, DPO Muhammad Abid, Deputy Commissioner Hina Arshad, MNA Muhammad Khan Daha, MPA Rana Muhammad Saleem Hanif and other dignitaries presented commemorative shields and gifts to the families of the police martyrs as a token of respect and appreciation for their invaluable sacrifices.
