KARACHI, August 28, 2026: A woman involved in a maternity case at a private hospital in Nazimabad is undergoing medical examination and tests at another hospital, police told ARY News.

According to police, the affected woman is being medically examined at Services Hospital, where an X-ray and other medical tests are being conducted.

Some of the woman’s tests have also been sent to a third private hospital, police said. The reports will determine whether the woman was pregnant or not.

Police are continuing their investigation with the administration and staff of the private hospital in Nazimabad. The police medical team has also sought all relevant medical records from the affected family.

According to the hospital administration’s statement to police, the woman whose name was used to prepare the hospital card did not come to the hospital for the operation.

The private hospital administration told police that action should be taken if negligence by its staff is established. The administration also told police that the woman who came to the hospital was not pregnant.

The incident took place at a private hospital in Gol Market, Nazimabad No. 3, where the woman was brought for delivery.

The family alleged that doctors performed an operation but did not hand over the newborn to them and later claimed that the woman had not been pregnant.

The woman’s husband, Arshad Iqbal, said his wife had been receiving treatment at the hospital for the past seven months and was brought there after her condition deteriorated.

According to Arshad, a doctor identified as Dr Anjum performed the operation. He alleged that after the procedure, doctors told the family that no baby had been born.
