RAWALPINDI, August 28, 2026: The Punjab Prosecution Department has taken an important decision in the Hina Javed murder case registered at Police Station Civil Lines, declaring it a high-profile case, ARY News reported.
A special committee comprising senior prosecutors has been formed to monitor the investigation and prosecution of the case.
Punjab Prosecutor General Irfan Sadiq Tarar has directed District Public Prosecutor Rawalpindi Mian Imran Rahim to ensure effective prosecution of the case.
The district prosecutor held a special meeting at his office with SP Pothohar Asar Ali, DSP Muhammad Shakeel and Civil Lines Police Station SHO Asif Sajjad.
The meeting reviewed progress in the investigation and prosecution of Hina Javed’s murder case. Deputy District Public Prosecutor Rawalpindi Rehman Shaukat Bhatti was also present.
District Public Prosecutor Mian Imran Rahim reviewed the available case record, investigation progress and evidence in detail.
The relevant investigation officers were given necessary directions to make the investigation more effective, comprehensive and scientific. A line of inquiry was also issued while keeping all possible aspects of the evidence in view so that no important evidence or investigative angle is overlooked.
On the instructions of the Punjab Prosecutor General, a special committee of senior prosecutors has also been formed for effective monitoring of the investigation and prosecution of the high-profile case.
The committee will continuously review progress in the case and provide legal assistance to the investigation team.
