KARACHI: A factory in the Landhi Export Processing Zone caught fire, and the adjacent building was also destroyed.
Fire brigade officials said that a fire spread to the 2nd building from the first floor, but because a significant portion of the first factory building collapsed, the fire’s intensity has somewhat decreased.
The fact that it might take a further four to five hours to bring the fire under control and that the cooling process potentially takes the next day or two is an indicator of gauging the fire’s intensity.
During relief efforts, firefighters did not experience a water shortage, and foam was no need to use.
Yusra Ali, the in-charge of Rescue 1122, informed the press that they managed to control half of the fire.
Three people became unwell during the operation after the fire was reported at 1:45 PM.
