ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Brigadier (retd) Aslam Ghuman has claimed party founder Imran Khan is likely to be released this year.
“High-level talks are underway with PTI founder Imran currently,” Aslam Ghuman said while exclusively talking to ARY News.
Ghuman said he had spoken to some of the people involved in the negotiations but declined to disclose their identities, saying the names were “a trust” and could not be revealed.
He said Imran Khan would not accept any arrangement that allowed the existing political “monopoly” to continue alongside him.
Ghuman also claimed that PTI founder Imran Khan would be released from prison this year, arguing that the country could not be run under the current circumstances.
Criticising the government, the PTI lawmaker described those in power as an “incompetent and corrupt group” and accused them of failing to ensure good governance.
He also praised Qaiser Sheikh, describing him as an honest and respectable person and claiming that he was not a “Form 47” beneficiary.

Commenting on the government’s internal functioning, Ghuman said it was “Pharaoh-like arrogance” if even a federal minister could not meet the prime minister.
He further criticised the chief minister and other government officials, alleging that their activities were largely limited to travelling by air rather than addressing governance issues.
