IHC restrains arrests, harassment of party leaders’ over PTI plea

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday restrained arrest of PTI leaders Malik Amir Ali, Shoaib Shaheen and others while hearing harassment complaints of the party’s leaders before the September 27 long march protest call.

The high court bench comprises of Justice Raja Inaam Amin Minhas, summoned the SSP-Operations in personal capacity in the court.

Lawyers, Shoaib Shaheen and Riasat Azad appeared in the court on behalf of Malik Amir Ali and others.

Shoaib Shaheen Advocate pleaded to the court that arrests and raids have been started before the PTI’s long march adding that raids are being conducted at the party workers homes and valuables also taken away during raids.

“I am a patient, they harass me and my family members,” Shoaib Shaheen complained. “They stole things and cash during raids and also pick women, girls and boys from homes,” lawyer said.

“We are providing affidavits and CCTV footage,” PTI lawyer further said.

He pleaded for the court’s order to restrain arrests, harassment and fixing the case hearing in the next week.

Justice Raja Inaam Amin summoned the SSP-Operations and issued restraining order against arrests and harassment in the case.
