ISLAMABAD: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Emir Engineer Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman on Friday assured that no hurdles will be created for students appearing in the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT), ARY News reported.
Concerns had emerged due to the MDCAT examination and JI’s scheduled Islamabad protest march coinciding on September 20.
Reassuring candidates, the JI chief stated, “We are committed to ensuring complete freedom of movement for students appearing for the MDCAT on September 20.”
In a direct message to examinees, he emphasized that all routes remain open and that JI has not closed any pathways, accusing the government instead of erecting roadblocks.
Addressing his party’s ongoing campaign against inflation and the heavy petroleum levy, Hafiz Naeem highlighted widespread public backing, noting that numerous women have donated their jewelry to support the movement.
He strongly condemned potential state crackdowns, maintaining that disrupting peaceful protests, making arrests, and launching attacks are entirely unacceptable. “If the government initiates any adverse action, our workers are prepared to face it,” he warned.
The JI Emir questioned why oil marketing companies are being granted inflated profit margins while demanding an immediate end to the petroleum levy and the “Independent Power Producers (IPPs) mafia.”
Asserting that no other political party holds a genuine plan to address public suffering, he predicted that the upcoming Islamabad rally would be the largest march in the country’s history.
Additionally, Hafiz Naeem condemned any attacks targeted toward the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah, urging the government to exert every diplomatic effort to help bring an end to the war.
