According to market data released by the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the benchmark KSE-100 index rose by 1,841.39 points, or 1.09 percent, to close at 170,884.59.
The index had closed at 169,043.20 in the previous session. During the trading session, it reached a high of 171,036.72 and a low of 169,399.99.
A total of 496 companies were reported in the Ready Market. Of these, 351 closed higher, 110 declined and 35 remained unchanged.
Ready Market turnover stood at 576,257,960 shares, compared with 386,368,068 shares previously.
The traded value rose to Rs. 22,408,641,290, from about Rs .20,091,221,846 in the previous session.
Market capitalization also increased, reaching Rs.19,038,154,170,297, compared with Rs. 18,847,353,485,602 previously.
