LAKKI MARWAT: Three players of a local cricket team were killed and three others injured when militants opened fire on a rickshaw carrying them in Lakki Marwat.
According to details, the terrorist attack took place near the village of Abdul Khel, where players returning by rickshaw after playing a cricket match came under fire.
Three players died at the scene while three others were injured. The attackers fled the area after the shooting.
Police and rescue teams reached the scene after receiving information about the attack. The bodies and injured players were shifted to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital, while police collected evidence from the crime scene.
Dara Pezu police said the players killed in the attack were identified as Muhammad Umair, Sadiq Amin and Aliyan. The injured were identified as Asifullah, Imdadullah and Ijaz Khan.
According to police, the players were returning to their village of Abdul Khel after playing a cricket match in Shah Hassan village when militants, who had allegedly been lying in wait, opened fire on them along the route.

Police teams have launched a search for the attackers who fled the scene, police said.
Earlier this month, Lakki Marwat police recovered the bodies of four unidentified men from different areas of Lakki Marwat district.
According to police, two bodies were found near Kurram Bridge, while two others were recovered from Manjiwala Road.
The bodies were shifted to a hospital for medico-legal formalities.
