RAWALPINDI: Security has been placed on high alert in the garrison city of Rawalpindi and adjoining areas to maintain the law and order situation, ARY News reported, citing police.
Police stated that arrests will be made for violations of Section 144, while strict surveillance has been established at all entry and exit points of the city.
Additional police forces have also been deployed in key areas of the garrison city.
To maintain law and order, police conducted a special flag march across the city.
Meanwhile, City Police Officer (CPO) Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera visited various areas of Rawalpindi to inspect security arrangements.
He stated that measures to ensure peace and stability are ongoing and warned that zero tolerance will be shown toward violations of Section 144.
