KARACHI: A man injured in a suspected robbery attempt in Ghaghar Phatak died while being shifted to hospital after waiting on the road for medical assistance, ARY News reported.

According to police, the victim, identified as Abbas, was injured when armed robbers opened fire during a robbery resistance incident in Ghaghar Phatak.

Abbas reportedly remained on the road for a considerable time, waiting for an ambulance. People present at the scene were allegedly busy recording videos instead of helping the injured man.

An ambulance was eventually arranged to transport him to Jinnah Hospital, located around 43 kilometres away. However, Abbas died during the journey to the hospital.

Police said the initial investigation suggested that the shooting took place when the victim resisted a robbery attempt.

Meanwhile, a dead body found in a bag in Karachi’s Nazimabad has been identified.

“The deceased has been identified as Adnan,” police said. “The suspect, Nisar, has also been arrested with the help of the CCTV footage,” officials said.

“Accused Nisar has been a native of Badin district and working as a gardener at a nursery at KDA Chowrangi,” according to police.

“Deceased Adnan and the accused were working at the same nursery and were engaged in a personal feud for some time,” police said.

The murder victim Adnan had two days ago tied accused Nisar with rope and subjected him to bodily torture. Avenging personal grudge Nisar killed Adnan with blows of hammer and put the body in a bag and thrown it, according to police.
