Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shaukat Yousafzai has said that the alliance between PTI and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) is limited to parliament and does not extend beyond it.

Speaking on ARY News programme Aitaraz Hai, Yousafzai said PTI had an alliance with JUI-F on specific issues, but this did not mean the party agreed with everything JUI-F said.

He said what JUI-F said or did was its own matter, adding that political parties needed to exercise caution on certain issues.

Yousafzai acknowledged that his party had also made mistakes in the past. He said statements made by people sitting abroad were repeatedly attributed to PTI, despite having no connection with the party.

He added that people criticising PTI from abroad did not represent the party.

Speaking about former accountability adviser Shahzad Akbar, Yousafzai said Pakistan and PTI founder Imran Khan had given him considerable respect.

He alleged that Shahzad Akbar was targeting him and the party from abroad.

Yousafzai further said people who had left Imran Khan and moved abroad were claiming that they were not doing anything.

“We are patriots, unlike you, who have become fugitives and are sitting abroad,” he said.
