ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawyer Salman Safdar met party founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi at Adiala Jail, where he discussed their health and legal matters with the incarcerated couple, ARY News reported.
The meeting was arranged at 4:30pm and lasted around 40 minutes, according to the details shared. It was the first time Salman Safdar had met Imran Khan in seven months, despite repeated requests, while he met Bushra Bibi after 11 months.
Salman Safdar said the 40-minute meeting was not enough to discuss all the cases and legal matters involving the PTI founder. During the meeting, Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi briefed the lawyer about their health and conditions inside the jail.
The couple also gave fresh instructions to Salman Safdar regarding their legal matters and pending cases. Important legal issues were discussed during the meeting.
Meanwhile, sources said the PTI parliamentary party has decided to conditionally support the proposed 28th Constitutional Amendment if Imran Khan is released.
A majority of participants supported linking the party’s backing for the proposed amendment to Imran Khan’s release, sources said.
The parliamentary party also decided to form a six-member steering committee to address issues related to access to Imran Khan and his medical treatment.
Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Allama Raja Nasir Abbas will head the committee, which will also include two MNAs, two senators and one representative each from Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
